While animals will always be my first love, people and the tales of their lives held in their faces enthral me. How light is caught in people’s eyes differently and elements of their character is painted in a scar or wrinkle makes drawing people’s faces very special and interesting. I have not done many so far, but I have plans for more. I think they have the power to thrill me because when you draw a person, you have so much more margin for error; I can draw a fox and it be slightly different to my photo and it will still look like a fox, but a portrait of a person has to be accurate otherwise it will not look like them!
