JETBlackInc

I am a self-taught artist, finding time to draw between wildlife conservation work. Having spent three years living in South Africa, I returned to the UK to complete a PhD in Biological Anthropology, looking at how we can improve human-wildlife coexistence.

My drawings are almost all in ink, predominantly black, and with middle names of Edward and Thomas, JETBlackInc seemed a too convenient play on words to miss out on! I have recently started to incorporate watercolour and other media into my artwork, and am excited to experiment with the use of colour highlights in an otherwise monochrome composition.

Although I continue to expand my horizons, my passion for animals dominates my work as I try to create beautiful interpretations of wildlife. I hope you can enjoy them as much as I do.

I am open to commissions and would love to collaborate with you to bring your ideas to life. The best work comes from clear communication, so I will take the time to discuss your concept in detail, whether you have a fully formed vision or just a starting point, and we can refine it together until we are both clear and excited about the direction. While my artwork is dominated by wildlife, I am also interested in other subjects and portrait work. You can explore the Illustrations portfolio to see examples of other themes and concepts I have worked on before, as well as the Pet Portraits and Portraits portfolio for pet and human subjects respectively. Whatever the subject, my goal is to make the process enjoyable, collaborative, and ultimately to produce a piece you are happy with.
